Frequently Asked Questions
What We Do
"Doggy Doodie is our Duty". Once or twice a week, according to your needs, we serve you by picking up and completely removing dog waste from your yard.

What is "cross contamination free"?
"When a yard is completed, we disinfect our boots and tools. You can be assured we are doing all we can to prevent the spread of dog diseases."

What about winter?
"We work through the winter. Dogs keep making their messes all year long, and our company continues to remove that dog waste."

What about snow or rain?
"We’ll work in most weather, but heavy snow, rain, and severe storms will cause us to postpone our work that day. We intend to make up the work later that week. If a prolonged weather problem keeps us from working the whole week, we will not charge for those missed days."

What about holidays?
"During the week preceding a holiday, we will notify you of our work intentions. Typically, we will be there the next day. Service returns to regular days the following week."

What about gates?
"You have a few options:
1) You know you will be home all day and could let our worker in.
2) Leave your gate unlocked on your service day.
3) Use one of our combination locks. With this option, your gate remains locked and we both will be able to enter the yard when necessary.
If you choose option 1 or 2, but forget to unlock for us, we won’t be able to serve you that week, but we would still have to charge for the trip out."

What about the dog in the yard?
"In most cases we can work with your dog in the yard. We get along well with dogs. However, there are some cases when a dog will not let our worker into the yard. If you know that your dog is not good with strangers, or it becomes apparent that your dog will not allow us to clean your yard, then we ask that you restrain or confine the dog. We don’t want to take unnecessary risks with your dog or our workers."

What about skipping a service day?
"If the dog will be gone from the yard for a couple of weeks or more, please call. We can hold service and you will not be charged for those days. If, however, a hold results in an accumulation of waste, a "restart fee" may be assessed. (i.e.: A hold during the winter even though the dog is still using the yard, would cause a build up of waste. An extra fee for the first return visit would be assessed based on the extra time required to clean the yard."

What about payments?
"Our rates are described in the "Prices" section. We will confirm your rate when you start our services. We will send a statement in the mail or through email (your preference) at the end of each month, after the work is all done. We accept checks, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and electronic payments through checkfree.com. If desired, we can also automatically bill your credit card for you each month. There is a $3.00 late fee for accounts not paid by the 15th of the month following the service."

What about contracts?
"Doggy Detail doesn’t need a contract to serve you. We can start and stop your service over the phone. There is no minimum service periods, and no advance notice is required to cancel service."

What areas do you service?
"North and Northwest Chicagoland including all of Lake County Illinois, western McHenry County, and Northern Cook and Dupage counties..
